CURRENT RESEARCH FIELD: Target microfabrication, laser micro- and nano-processing

EXPERTISE AND COMPETENCES:

Design, construction and exploitation of ultrafast laser processing platforms for:

  • Laser Direct-Writing (LDW);
  • Two-Photon Photopolymerization (TPP) for 3D laser lithography;
  • Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT);
  • Waveguides in transparent bulk materials;
  • Development of new laser methods for fast structuring of large-area with resolution below the diffraction limit;
  • Characterization techniques based on pump-probe scheme with sub-picosecond resolution.

Dr. Dan STUTMAN

CURRENT RESEARCH FIELD: Nuclear and strong field physics with high intensity lasers Medical applications of high intensity lasers X-ray phase-contrast imaging

EXPERTISE AND COMPETENCES:

My main expertise is in the fields of plasma spectroscopic diagnostics, X-ray optics and imaging, inertial and magnetic fusion science, and plasma physics.

I developed novel instruments and methods for plasma diagnostic in magnetic and inertial fusion experiments, and in high intensity laser experiments. I invented a new technique of X-ray phase contrast imaging (4 international patents) and spearheaded its application in the medical, industrial, and security fields.

I am currently leading the Nuclear Physics with High Power Lasers Division at ELI-NP, the CETAL-PW laboratory at INFLPR, and the Plasma Diagnostics Group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the Johns Hopkins University in US.
