ABOUT CETAL-PW
The CETAL-PW laboratory is aimed to explore fundamental physics in extreme conditions created in laser-matter interaction at ultra-intense regime and to push forward the future technologies of aerospace, medical therapies, or nuclear engineering. Ultra-intense regime of interaction is obtained with very powerful (PW class) laser systems capable of producing extremely high light intensities, reaching 10^21 W/cm².Laser infrastructure The laboratory hosts two main high power laser systems:

The research activity of the CETAL-PW laboratory is focused on the interaction of ultra-short high-intensity lasers with matter and its applications: plasma physics and diagnostics, production of sources of energetic particles and radiation and their applications in different scientific fields (medicine, chemistry, space science).
